Description

Damp Wood, Incense, Clean Linen

The quintessential scent of an old wooden Japanese house in Aoyama, as imagined by Sonya Park. An exquisite and ultra-chic fragrance of patchouli (evoking damp wood), smoky woods (Guaiac and Vetiver), and clove. A moss accord enhances the sensation of freshness. Contains essences of Clove, Guaiac Wood, Vetiver, Patchouli, Hinoki Accord, and Moss Accord. Perfume created in collaboration with Françoise Caron.

On the island of Awaji, renowned for its ideal climate, the finest incense in the world is crafted. Following a tradition over a thousand years old and passed down from father to son, the incense is artisanally made by *Koh-shis*, or masters of aromas. These experts excel in the four essential stages of production: precise blending of exclusively natural materials—precious woods, herbs, plants, plant resins, and fragrances; kneading the mixture into a paste, pressing and working it thoroughly, then letting it rest for two weeks to fully absorb the scent; cutting the paste into the desired size after rolling it into long, thin ribbons; and finally, drying in the west wind for three days before bundling the sticks.
