We are proud to present ‘Wild Animals’, a guerrilla takeover in our store and e-shop by the Dutch designer Rop van Mierlo in collaboration with Remco van der Velden.

Van Mierlo is best known for his picture book ‘Wild Animals’, which won a Dutch Design Award in 2011 and is sold in MoMA (New York) and Design Museum London, among others.

Van Mierlo is intrigued by the human need to control nature. Using a wet-on-wet technique, he paints animals that he can’t control.

Wild Animals started as a way to create untamed animals.
Then the untamed animals became a book.
Then the book led to collaborations and other projects.
Then the projects and collaborations kept developing.
Then Rop kept on painting.
Then Remco stept in.
Then Rop and Remco became Wild Animals.
